ALL YOU NEED IS CASH

As part of the Mods & Rockers film series, the Egyptian Theatre is screening the 1978 rock spoof “All You Need Is Cash,” with pre-screening introduction by the Rutles. Eric Idle and Neil Innes created their dead-on, affectionate parody of the Beatles’ story a full 17 years before the real Fab Four made their “Anthology.”

“All You Need Is Cash” features cast members from both SNL and Monty Python, and cameos from rock stars Mick Jagger, Ron Wood, Paul Simon and George Harrison. The Grammy-nominated soundtrack and the film’s subsequent video release enhanced its cult following and inspired other spoofs such as “This Is Spinal Tap.” 1978, Broadway Video, 76 min.
