LIVE SCREENPRINTING                       WITH HIT + RUN

LA silkscreen collective HIT+RUN brings their mobile screenprinting studio to Farmlab for a limited edition printing session. With graphic designs created by both street and fine artists, choose your own combination and placement of designs to make a customized t-shirt on the spot. Bring a blank shirt to work on and a few will be available at Farmlab.

Artists involved with designing HIT+RUN graphics include Cody Hudson, Maya Hayuk, Kofie, Jeff Jank, Parra, kozyndan, HVW8, B+, Kime Buzzelli, Shepard Fairey, Kevin Lyons, AMBUSCH and Restitution Press.

STENCILS BY GREG DAVILA                 & WATERWORLD AT                   ECHO CURIO

Echo Curio, the Echo Park art space dedicated to showing “outsider/fringe and freak culture to local community-based historical exhibitions,” celebrates its opening night for two exhibits, “Stencils by Greg Davila” and “Waterworld.”

The young new artist, Greg Davila presents pop culture inspired stencil artwork that is executed with a mix of clean precise lines and hazy fields of thick paint. All of Davila’s works are for sale.

“Waterworld” is the community’s melting pot of art inspired by the sea, rivers, beaches and the like. Drop off your own creation on June 3rd, be it a hand painted boogie board, shell necklace or mermaid sculpture. All works along the lines of the theme will be accepted but everything must be for sale and ready to hang.

SCREENDANCE: A NEW                        VISUAL LANGUAGE

Offering innovative examples of dance on screen, the 7th annual Dance Camera West Film Festival stretches our understanding of the boundaries of both dance and film. With an opening night reception at REDCAT, the Festival’s first screening will be a series of eight shorts in “Screendance: A New Visual Language.” The featured shorts exhibit dance works from around the globe, including “Fictional Dance Party” (Canada), “Downlove” (Greece) and a piece filmed entirely in the rain, entitled “Rain” (Sweden).
