“Don’t think of it at as 3 minutes, think of it as 180 seconds” advises “Dimestories,” an upcoming NPR show, which will be recording original 3-minute prose pieces at Skylight Books. At a lively open mic session, authors are invited to read their work of any nature within the strictly enforced time limits.
It is impossible for all the readings to make it on the radio show, but everything will be posted as MP3s at www.dimestories.org. “Dimestories” is produced by Atlantic Public Media and the executive producer is Jay Allison, the host of NPR’s “This I Believe.”

Join Tomm Carroll, the LA correspondent for the oldest beeriodical in the US, the Celebrator Beer News, for an afternoon of sampling Belgium’s most distinctive beers. From Flanders to Wallonia and the Senne River to the Ardennes Forest, Carroll will present beers from such brands/breweries as d’Achouffe, Chimay, Duvel, Giradin, Hoegaarden, Leffe, Lindeman’s, Maredsous, Oud Beersel and Rodenbach.
