THE MUPPET MOVIE

As described by Kermit the Frog in his first foray on the silver screen, “The Muppet Movie” is “somewhat fictionalized.” Joined by a slew of eccentric characters, including Gonzo, Miss Piggy and Mel Brooks, Kermit and Fozzie Bear embark on a cross-country trip to make it big in Hollywood and locate the rainbow connection.

Jim Henson’s 1979 live-action musical “The Muppet Movie” was the Muppet’s debut on the big screen. Upon release the reviews of the film were mixed…

Statler: I’m Statler.
Waldorf: I’m Waldorf. We’re here to heckle “The Muppet Movie”.
Gate Guard: Gentlemen, that’s straight ahead. Private screening room D.
Statler: Private screening?
Waldorf: Yeah, they’re afraid to show it in public.

Statler: Well, how do you like the film?
Waldorf: I’ve seen detergents leave a better film than this.
