CHADO TEA ROOM                        OPENING AT JANM

Using the traditional tools of a tea master - the cupping bowl and mug - participants will taste and evaluate various teas, including white, green, oolong, and black. MOZZARELLA MONDAYS                   AT JAR

Mozzarella Mondays at Jar showcases a selection of mozzarella small plates created by Chef Suzanne Tracht. The menu, which includes such items as mozzarella with Berkshire prosciutto and tapenade, stracciatella with celery herb salad and celery leaf pesto, and burricotti with braised artichoke hearts and currants, are all paired with specially selected wines.

FROM PRODUCTION TO CONSUMPTION: A CULINARY EXPLORATION OF ART

Join professional chef and museum educator, Maite Gomez-Rejon, as he connects culinary history to the portrayal of food and drink in painting and sculpture. The art of Southeast Asia is brought to life by exploring cooking traditions described in ancient texts, from the Vedas to writings by Alexander the Great’s commanders.

The talk is the first in a three-session course at the Norton Simon Museum, which examines artwork with an eye toward food and drink.
