WHERE THE ACTION WAS ROCK HISTORY TOUR

In the mid-1960s, the Sunset Strip and Hollywood were ground zero for teen music culture, with scores of clubs, recording studios, music shops and radio stations. During the “Where the Action Was” tour, pop music historians Kim Cooper and Gene Sculatti will map out LA’s rock history as well as the local drama around such artists as the Byrds, Phil Specter and Bobby Fuller.

From the teen riots over the closing of Pandora’s Box (inspiration for the Buffalo Springfield hit “For What It’s Worth”) to the late night Canter’s Deli scene, from adolescent groupies holding court at Rodney’s English Disco to the wild dances invented at Ciro’s, “Where the Action Was” will take you on a high-energy voyage into LA’s rock history.
